Job
Position/and or Company: Business Analyst with
Meadowbrook Insurance Group
Responsibilities/Job Summary:
What role do you hold in your company (not the job title,
but the function or area of contribution)? How long have
you done that, and what other expertise do you have?
I
work for Meadowbrook Insurance Group as a Business Analyst
in the Information Services Department. In this role I evaluate
business processes, look for inefficiencies, pain points,
or unmet needs, and then I recommend automation, procedural,
or structural changes that will help the business unit to
become more profitable and better meet their objectives.
For the past year I have been specifically working with
one automation solution, which serves our Managing General
Agent and Self Insured Administration business entities.
I implement this new solution for our offices where those
types of business must be processed. Prior to this position
I worked in Meadowbrook’s Agency Operations as a Business
Liaison for 9 years.
Awards or Accomplishments (ex: CISR, passing a class,
etc. go back as far as you want, insurance/professional-related):
The
highlight of 2008 was being presented with the James M.
Gibson Service Award by The AMS Users’ Group. This
award is their highest national service award, which recognizes
a body of contributions in a volunteer capacity. It was
presented to me in front of an audience of about 3,000 people,
and I was privileged to give an address to that group in
accepting the award.
In
2007 I was awarded The AMS Users’ Group Presidential
Citation, which is a national award given to an individual
who has demonstrated exemplary effort on behalf of the users’
group. I was recognized for my achievements chairing the
Sagitta Education Committee, working to improve the quality
of education provided to AMS Users throughout the country.
What
these awards have in common, and together they represent
the accomplishments which are most rewarding, is that I
was able to make significant contributions to a large group
of my peers in the industry, which contributed to making
their jobs easier and their employers more profitable. To
be recognized for those contributions was simply icing on
the cake!
